As you challenged us today to blog about the things we want to give thanks for I couldn't help but think of the many ways our church has been there. We have the freedom to worship at a loving, warm church. Our granddaughter is able to attend a wonderful Christian school at Midland Valley Christian Academy. We have jobs and a home to live in. We have loving friends that laugh with us and most importantly pray with us. I love blogs and just got introduced to them about 6 months ago. I read several a day and I enjoy my new Christian women friends I have met sharing their blessings. God is so mighty and still loves me and cares about my needs. I look forward to registering my blessings.

"How do I say thanks, for the things you have done for me, things so undeserved, yet you gave to prove your love for me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. All that I am and ever hope to be...I owe it all to thee." (To God Be the Glory)

I think everything in song..LOL! That verse is the first to come to mind. There is so much to be thankful for,it's hard to know where to start. I may have to do this more than once!

I am thankful for the resources that I have to take care of my children. Being a single mom is not easy, but I have been blessed to have a roof over our heads and food on our table, and so much more. God has provided the means for us to live without struggling. There are other single parents out there who have to get assistance , but I have been blessed that God has provided me with a job that pays the bills and I don't have to fight for child support. The situation could be completely different. I get to put my kids to bed every night in a safe, loving environment. I'd say that's more than fair!

This is just one of many things...I'll be back!

Today I thank the Lord that I have been able to get out of bed and come to work. He put me in this job and although it's long hours and plenty of stress He guides me through the landmines. I'm blessed to be surrounded by dedicated workers that have a common goal. I was able to listen to the 1815 CD yesterday and got to know Pastor Mike O lots better. I also thank the Lord for our modern technology. I'm old enough to remember when we didn't have all our handy dandy gadgets. Thank the Lord for today.

Thank y'all for these encouraging words! Today I'm thankful for a great staff meeting, a fun lunch for secretary's day, accomplishing several key projects at work, a Stevie Wonder song I listened to, registering for a motorcycle class (although I found out later I have a conflict that weekend), playing basketball with Matthew after work, wrestling the boys before bed, hanging out with Susan, and going to bed at a good time this evening!

Ummm, Wow Pastor B Said Y'all..I am thankful today he said Y'all instead of Yawl... ;-).
Seriously, I am thankful for a place to worship. I am so blessed to be able to sing to my King every day. I am blessed that He would even listen. I pray before worship every Sunday and invite Him into the service, into the sanctuary with us. I welcome His presence, and when I worship I know that I am giving to and receiving from Him. When I sing I ask that He would just allow me to be an instrument, and that He will sing thru me. To be used by the almighty in even the smallest way is a blessing, and I am thankful that He would give me the opportunity!

Being thankful does change your focus and elevates attitudes. I started each day (so far this week) with spending more time thanking God for all my blessings. Once I started thanking him I recognized more and more things that he does and give me. Today I am thankful most that I was able to become a blogger! Next up is posting a blog.
I love the weather and I am so thankful for my health, my friends, family, church, hot showers, allergy meds, job, mercy, good employees, free speech, spell checker, spiritual growth (even when it hurts), gas money and so much more.
God is good all the time!

That's right. Several songs remind me to stop and thank God for the simple things. I want to keep in perspective God's thousands of blessings versus the few struggles I face.
